MORNING PRAYER AND LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy
will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and
forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory

  RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP
  LEADER: Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
  CONGREGATION: How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond
  tracing out!
  LEADER: Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His
  counselor?
  CONGREGATION: Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?
  LEADER: For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things.
  ALL: To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
  LEADER: Therefore, I urge you all, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies
  as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper
  worship.

• Unison Prayer of Confession

  All seeing Father, we have sinned in our minds and hearts. Forgive when we
  shade the truth and when we prefer “our truth” to Yours. Forgive us when we
  depart from the noble and descend into unprincipled intentions. We confess
  we slip from preferring the right when it requires us to live by Your will. Oh,
  God, pure thoughts are under constant attack, and we succumb to the
  temptation of our eyes and imagination. Our thoughts stray from the lovely
  far too often. What’s admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy fails to inhibit
  our criticism and cynicism. Cleanse our minds and set us on the path of
  redemption which our Lord Jesus died to make a reality in our hearts and in
  our lives.

  AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
  My only comfort in life and in death is that I belong--body and soul, in life
  and in death--not to myself but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who at the
  cost of His own blood has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed
  me from the dominion of the devil; that He protects me so well that without
  the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that
  everything must fit his purpose for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit,
  He also assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and
  ready from now on to live for him.

  7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.

  13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[a] Since we have that same spirit of[b] faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

  16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
