RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP
LEADER: Come, people of God, and worship the One who calls us together.PEOPLE: We come to worship, to grow, and to encourage one another.
LEADER: God has given us a community where we can learn together, pray together, and share life together.
PEOPLE: We belong to Christ, and through Christ, we belong to one another.
LEADER: So come with open hearts, ready to hear from God and ready to love one another.
PEOPLE: Let us worship God together!

Gracious God, You have called us to love You and to love one another, but we confess that we don't always live that way. We become focused on ourselves and overlook the needs around us. We hold back when You call us to give, and we allow busyness and distraction to pull us away from You and from one another. Forgive us, Lord. Help us to follow Jesus more faithfully, to care for one another generously, and to be the community You have called us to be. Hear us now as we silently confess our sins to You.

APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Ephesians 2:13-22
13 In Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Revelation’s 7 Class with Jim Tony
“REPENT OR ELSE”—Jesus’s warning to the congregations addressed in Revelation 1-3. That’s what Vance Havner titled this study. Christ is serious about the purpose of the church. This study will attempt to show DPC what he finds necessary in a church.
The study begins Wednesday September 9 from 6:00-6:45pm in the Choir Room.
Bible Teacher Jim Tony will open the Scripture. Classes are open to everyone.

Operation Backpack serves children in our own community by providing nutritious food over weekends during the school year. We have had wonderful support over the years, but now we need more volunteers. We are looking to fill some very necessary positions:
Food Purchaser- We are blessed to receive generous amounts of food and monetary donations, and sometimes need to purchase cases/boxes of food from Sam’s or Costco to fill the gap in between food drives. We keep a close eye on stock and will give advance notice on amounts and types of food needed.
Scheduler- organize and recruit weekly volunteers to pack the bags with food so they are ready for delivery to local schools. You will also schedule volunteers for milk/cereal pickups at the food bank.
Packers- This is a great activity for families or small groups. The food is already counted and sorted and it just needs to be placed into bags and then put in tubs for delivery to the elementary schools.
For more information on these opportunities to serve please reach out to Karen Loechner at MissKarenPC@outlook.com or text her at 314-303-2944.
