RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP
LEADER: Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
PEOPLE: Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.LEADER: For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.
PEOPLE: We come to worship the One who is worthy of all our praise.
-
Gracious God, we confess that we don’t always trust You as we should. We let worry take over, we focus on what is wrong, and we forget how faithful You have been. Forgive us when our thoughts, our words, and our actions pull us away from You. Help us to see your goodness even when life is hard and to trust that You are with us in every season. Turn our hearts back to You and help us live with the peace and joy that come from knowing Jesus. Hear us now as we silently confess our sins to You.
-
RESPONSIVE AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
Leader: Who is our hope in life and in death?
People: Christ alone.
Leader: Who is our light in the darkness?
People: Christ alone.
Leader: Who is faithful when we are weak?
People: Christ alone.
Leader: Who hears us when we pray? People: Our loving and gracious God. Leader: What does the Lord desire of his people?
People: To love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Leader: What shapes and forms us as followers of Jesus?
People: God’s Word, prayer, worship, community, and the work of the Holy Spirit within us.
Leader: Where is our hope today?
People: Our hope is in the risen Jesus Christ, who is making all things new. Amen.

Colossians 3:1-4:
3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
This is the Word of the Lord

Revelation’s 7 Class with Jim Tony
“REPENT OR ELSE”—Jesus’s warning to the congregations addressed in Revelation 1-3. That’s what Vance Havner titled this study. Christ is serious about the purpose of the church. This study will attempt to show DPC what he finds necessary in a church.
The study begins Wednesday September 9 from 6:00-6:45pm in the Choir Room.
Bible Teacher Jim Tony will open the Scripture. Classes are open to everyone.

Operation Backpack serves children in our own community by providing nutritious food over weekends during the school year. We have had wonderful support over the years, but now we need more volunteers. We are looking to fill some very necessary positions:
Food Purchaser- We are blessed to receive generous amounts of food and monetary donations, and sometimes need to purchase cases/boxes of food from Sam’s or Costco to fill the gap in between food drives. We keep a close eye on stock and will give advance notice on amounts and types of food needed.
Scheduler- organize and recruit weekly volunteers to pack the bags with food so they are ready for delivery to local schools. You will also schedule volunteers for milk/cereal pickups at the food bank.
Packers- This is a great activity for families or small groups. The food is already counted and sorted and it just needs to be placed into bags and then put in tubs for delivery to the elementary schools.
For more information on these opportunities to serve please reach out to Karen Loechner at MissKarenPC@outlook.com or text her at 314-303-2944.
